Discovered in 1492, Cat Island is one of the most beautiful and fertile islands of The Bahamas. Rolling hills, dense woodlands, and isolated beaches cover the 150 square mile island. The population is about 1,700 people. It is a lush sanctuary that provides tranquility for those seeking an escape from the pressures of modern civilization. The waters surrounding the island are mostly untouched, and offer a wide variety of diving opportunities. Steep walls and drop-offs, pristine reefs, and unforgettable shark encounters make Cat a must-dive destination.
